The design for BackCountry’s Community Center, known as the Sundial House, was recently awarded the Gold National Award at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas. The “National Award” celebrate the best of residential design, marketing and sales from around the country. Over 800 entries competed for “Gold” distinction this year with the Sundial House winning the “Best on the Boards” category for Best Community Center Design. This is the highest recognition awarded to any community center design in the country in 2009.
The Sundial House’s outdoor pool and hot springs facility are already under construction and will be ready for BackCountry residents to enjoy this summer. Expected to be completed in late 2010, the Sundial House will command a dramatic location offering panoramic views of everything from downtown Denver, to Longs Peak, Pikes Peak, and the 8,200 acres of Backcountry Wilderness Area.
But the Sundial House will offer much more than dramatic vistas. This luxurious retreat will function as private lodge, exclusively for BackCountry residents and their guests to enjoy. Residents will come here to use the pool, lounge on the patios, exercise in the fitness and movement studio, and celebrate the summer with barbecues and family gatherings.
You know you’re living in a vibrant community when you experience neighbors gathering together to participate in community activities and annual traditions. This was especially true at this year’s BackCountry Valentine’s Day Party where families enjoyed holiday treats and games together at the Discovery Center.
