Discovery Center

BackCountry is situated in some of the last available land in Highlands Ranch. Located on BackCountry Drive, just south of Wildcat Reserve Parkway at South Broadway.

Your adventure begins with the Discovery Center (Directions). This community information and registration headquarters is located at the entrance of BackCountry alongside Discovery Park, the first of 6 parks throughout the community.

Inside of the Discovery Center explore the story of BackCountry and all of the great things this special place will offer. You will start with a view of what it is like to live in BackCountry and see just how vast 8,200 acres of wilderness looks next to the community.

Next you will see a scale model of the BackCountry community and the 467-acre South Rim, which will be exclusive to BackCountry residents.View a video of the open space and see a timeline on the history of the land that is now the Backcountry Wilderness Area.

Wrap up your Discovery Center tour with a model of the planned Sundial House community clubhouse and pool. Also, preview the community parks and see how nature helped influence the creation of BackCountry.
