Fall In Love With Highlands Ranch

Fall In Love With Highlands Ranch

BackCountry is a master-planned community tucked into the south of the Denver metro area. You’ll fall in love with everything the community  has to offer this time of year — more than 70 miles of hiking and biking trails, neighborhood parks, farmers’ markets, and charming local features like the Highlands Ranch Mansion.

Here are a few autumn best bets!

Backcountry Wilderness Area: Fun Close To Home

The Backcountry Wilderness Area borders our BackCountry community, with 8,200 acres of open space dedicated to recreation, preservation, and wildlife habitat conservancy. In fact, the South Rim area of the Backcountry Wilderness Area has been set aside for the exclusive private use of BackCountry neighborhood residents! With regional trails and loops, you can spend the day hiking and biking close to home.

Highlands Ranch Mansion

Step back in time at the historic Highlands Ranch Mansion. The majestic stone exterior of the Mansion is truly breathtaking, and the inside is just as dazzling. Explore the interior during free open hours each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays and take a guided or self-guided tour depending on your preferred pace. The harvest season is a particularly interesting time to wander through the 250-acre Historic Park, which includes a working ranch, period-accurate barns, and an iconic windmill.

Gather Together in Local Parks

Highlands Ranch is known for its extensive park system. From popular neighborhood parks to larger community spaces, you’ll always find fun things to do. Splash and cool off in outdoor fountains and streams, spend the day relaxing and fishing at Redstone Pond, play sports on dozens of athletic fields and courts, or simply walk the winding paths to enjoy the gorgeous Rocky Mountain views.

Highlands Ranch Farmers’ Market

Support local vendors and find gorgeous artisanal foods and crafts at one of Denver’s best local markets, the Highlands Ranch Farmers’ Market. You’ll find the best of autumnal produce, homemade pastas, locally-grown flowers, freshly-baked breads, and more. We suggest bringing your own bags and comfortable walking shoes so that you can peruse stalls and talk to vendors at your leisure.

Events Around Highlands Ranch

Whether you’re looking for puppy yoga, local marathons, or beer festivals, you’ll find it in Highlands Ranch! The local entertainment scene is always bustling with fun activities, with more than 100 family-friendly community events each year — such as the upcoming Highlands Ranch Pioneer Days or Oktoberfest Celebration.

When you own a home at BackCountry, you’re sure to be smitten with the Highlands Ranch community — especially during the coziest season of them all. Better yet, take advantage of one of our currently-available homes so you can get in on the action and festivities right away!
